Description
I like Graffiti, whenever I see a train I smile. I know it is an opportunity to see ever-changing artwork.
I started by making two 8 inch vanilla almond pound cakes and freezing them to help with carving. I made a batch of modeling chocolate to cover the cake and a batch of buttercream to stick it all together. I layered the two cakes to give more height for carving and stuck it back in the freezer so the buttercream would set up. Once it was firm I began carving out the buildings using a serrated knife. Luckily I did not cut myself in the process of this cake creation. Once more I iced the area I carved and refroze. While waiting for it to set up I made the pail, paint brush, and car out of modeling chocolate. I rolled out the modeling chocolate and draped it over the cake. The fun part was smoothing out all the edges of the modeling chocolate to find the cake buildings... what a pain, I mean pleasure. My wife and I scoured the kitchen for items that would make good window stamps, we found the handle of a plastic spoon, an old measuring spoon, and a knife. Finally I painted on the design and attached the modeling chocolate pieces to complete my design. Of course we ate it too, yum. Hope you enjoy!
