The Accident cake by Victoria Julien

Description

Hey!
Well lets just start off by saying holy crow! There were so many designs to choose from! I had a few favorites that I thought would translate well into cake form but "The Accident" caught my eye and inspired me the most. The second I saw it I thought about those darn parchment paper piping bags and how one out of every 3 will spill out the bottom if you fill it too much or just didn't fold it right. I thought to myself- "Hey, this will be fun! And even if it's not a winning idea (as it is a bit simple), the cake world may get a nice little giggle out of it at the very least!"
So, I went to the store and bought some bananas... Oh, did I forget to mention the cake was my very own recipe? Cocao Banana Cake with Banana Cream Custard filling, chocolate frosting and home made insanely bright yellow marshmallow fondant. "Ahh, my eyes!" Ideal for finding in the dark, you know, for 2 AM snacking... Did I mention I'm pregnant? Ohhh, now it makes sence.
Anyways, My son helped me make, and eat, the cake at almost every step of the way. He had so much fun! Loves licking the beaters and even tried double dipping them.
Anyways... The 'parchment' bags were simply made from gumpaste, but I really filled them with the neon pink buttercream frosting just as you would fill a REAL piping bag! AWESOME! Then a little squirt of icing here and a smiley face there and TA-DAA! Here we have it, my first Threadcakes Competition entry. And a thousand photo's of the process to choose from.

ENJOY!!!
