Description
Thanks to my brother I found out about this amazing idea and I instantly decided to enter. Afterall i love baking.
I spend quite some time looking at all the amazing threadless designs, not sure which to choose.
In the end I chose "Toast" because I think it's rather cute and I liked the thought of making a cake that looks like a toast. It's rahter ironical I belive.
I used sponge cake as a base and cut the toast out.
In order to have the underlayer look more beachy I coated it with buttercreme. It's beige colour looked slightly sandy.
Now I had to think about a way of producing the arms, leggs and flip flops.
I had never worked with fondant so I started looking for recipes and chose one more or less randomly.
It took me quite a while to knead all the parts but eventually I did it.
Now I painted the faces onto the toast (I used frosting and chocolat) and arranged everything.
I had a lot of fun baking and planing this cake although it took me some time.
After about five hours I was finished and sadly not at all in the mood to eat cake since it was dinner time. Therefore I stored it in the frige for the night.
The next morning my father an I cut it and ate some for breakfast. It was delicious. :)
