My Belly Is A Polar Bear

I have a small cake company, and am totally self taught. All my techniques are based on one baking class I took while in culinary school and watching "Ace of Cakes" and "Cake Boss".

I usually make my own buttercream, my favorite combo is chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream, but because my cake kinda fell apart on this one, I had to use store bought frosting...It acted like wet cement that hardened over night :) I got just plain white fondant, and dyed it myself to get the colors I liked. I find that to be much easier than buying each color individually.

This cake only took about half an hour from start to finish (for baking). Decorating was the most fun! Penguins are my sorority's mascot, so I have a little bit of a soft spot for them, and add a polar bear and I'm sold! I posted my cake's pic on my sorority's facebook page and everyone went crazy! So, that's when I knew it was worthy of entry!

It was a basic chocolate cake with chocolate frosting...pretty rich, and pretty yummy! My sister sure enjoyed eating it!
