Description
Bountiful Catch was the first design that jumped out at me when I was looking at the list and knew it was the one for me. The process took a little longer than I was expecting; it took a total of 20 hours. The flavor of the cake was a take on a cappuccino flavored muffin that I produce. It was a coffee flavored cake with Chinese five spice added to it and iced with chocolate icing.
The primary mediums used were fondant and decorator icing. I also used dowel rods for support, wire for the sprays of leaves, and foam core board for the base plate. Most of the color and patterns were put on using a hand painting technique, which happens to one of my favorite techniques.
