Description
Oh MAN this took forever. I think my biggest mistake was thinking I could defy gravity with this thing.
For the cake, I used a vanilla cake recipe, and baked it in a square pan. I used black fondant, and icing for the detail. For the chocolate horn monstrosity, I tried my hand at modeling chocolate using a wire structure I made, and the rose is made from gum paste. How was I supposed to know that the thing would weigh upwards of 20 pounds? I know what you're thinking. Foresight. Well, shut up.
It was so heavy. There was just no way it was going to stand up on its own. But I tried! And I guess I don't regret trying. Besides, it's cake. Worst case scenario, I eat a piece of cake.
