Description
My little labor of love took about five days to complete. One day baking, one making gum paste figures, one sculpting the cake and covering it in fondant, one drinking.. I mean redoing the gum paste work that I managed to break, and one finishing all of the details and putting it together. The cake itself was a yummy vanilla cake with buttercream icing.
I wish I could say that the whole process was a joy and I loved every minute but unfortunately after being schooled by gravity and shouting so many four letter words that my cat still walks large circles to avoid me when we're in the same room, I don't think this will go down in my memory as a joyous cake making event. Luckily, I was able to redo most of the stuff that I screwed up and finish the cake according to the original plan (even the twice broken trap stood up!).
Now if you'll excuse me I need to go apologize to my cat, I can feel his disapproving stare from across the room.
