Veni Vidi Venti

Every year I think "must enter Threadcakes" and every year I leave it too late. My son has this t-shirt and, whilst I was making a cake for a birthday, he walked across my line of vision and . . there was the shirt and I had extra cake left over so . . hey, ho and off we went.
It's made from chocolate biscuit cake and was it was so nice to make something just for the fun of it. I asked my local coffee shop for two cups and simply lined them and filled them with the chocolate biscuit mixture. It took about 2 hours to set and then it was simply a matter of peeling the cups off the cake and playing with sugarpaste.
I got such a giggle out of this, my kids did too. There was the usual ructions when it came to cleaning the mixing bowl (oldest son far more clever, he drifted by when it was time to cut the cake, far more civilised).
It took about 3 hours to make and kept me busy and away from above mentioned kids who, thanks to the state of their bedrooms, were in my line of fire.
Oh, and it tasted delicious . . at least that's what the kids and neighbours said. Me? Can't eat something I made, sigh, it pains me to cut it lol.
