Never Fitted In...

We started with a (deee-licious) lemon cake and topped it with a creamy vanilla buttercream. I am pretty anti-fondant (because I like for my cakes to actually taste good) so we only used buttercream and royal icing to decorate. After putting on the first layers of buttercream, we got busy and lost Threadcakes motivation for about a week (and the cakes took up a lot of room in the fridge)but we came back with a bang and frosted those babycakes up. The red and the black icing did come out a little off color-wise, because after buying a whole new set of food colors to dye the icing with, we opened it to discover that the red was missing! We did a little creative color mixing, however, and overcame the temporary setback. And now, after tempting us from inside the refrigerator for so long, we get to enjoy the cakes - yum!
