The Squid vs. The Whale

This is a completely carved cake and I made the cake with 3 flavors. Chocolate , Vanilla and Pistachio. I have made the cake dense for holding the structure and used amazing Lauren's butter cream and chocolate ganache to hold and bind the cake and it would taste good as well. The sliced cake what you see is the combination of Pistachio and chocolate cake (guittard). It was a challenge for me to do this cake as I am attempting this for the first time. It took me more time than I really expected. In the picture the squid is under and there should be a small platform of cake hidden to support the weight of sperm whale enough. So I hid the small platform with my isomalt water pieces which actually creates tension for the scene for increasing the visual effect of the fight between the giant squid and the sperm whale before the squid finally gives in. This is something that takes place in real and it truly amazed me. Hope you all like my work!
