Sweet Memory

I saw this design and it was begging to be recreated in cake form. I also love Mickey and candy so it was an easy choice. This is my second ever threadcakes entry, first for this year. I live in Fiji and our selection of candy is rather limited so I started with a printed template and as much candy as I could find that would work with the design. I laid it all out, and used fondant to fill in the areas where I couldn't source the right candy (like the licorice parts). Although he's not 100% true to the original design, I still think he's rather cute and tasty. The cake itself is red velvet with cream cheese frosting (my favorite). All up I spent around one day planning, sourcing candy and working on this cake. Hope you like him.
