Description
This is my second Threadcakes entry and my first year entering. I had originally decided on doing this cake, but after building the structure and letting it sit for a bit, I had decided to challenge myself with The Red Story cake instead (I'm not as good at making people). After submitting that entry though, I figured I had better finish what I started so this guy came to life :)
He is made entirely of cake with some threaded rod and PVC supports. The base board was built up to resemble the bar and the martini glass was made from poured isomalt. His antlers are fondant on top of floral wire.
He took about 5 days on and off to complete but it was so worth it! I absolutely love how he came out plus he was delicious! Apple spice cake with a caramel swiss meringue buttercream.
After my family got first dibs at the cake carnage, I took the rest to my coworkers who were all to excited to help us finish him off :) One of my favorite cakes I have ever made and I'm glad I didn't leave this project unfinished.
