Description
I made this cake with 2 of my favorite recipes: Hershey's Chocolate cake and an egg-less vanilla cake recipe that has been in my family for years. I used Wilton fondant and gum paste to cover and make details for the cake. The cake process, from start to finish took about 8 hours. All the legs were carved to give it a tubular, tentacle look. The cake was iced in buttercream before being covered with coral-colored fondant. The butcher knife was made from gum paste. The smaller, black details were made using an edible food marker. The taste was yummy with these beloved recipes. I have been wanting to make an octopus cake for a long time and this was such a cool design that I couldn't resist!
