Description
Hi guys! Greetings from Venezuela. I've been following this awesome contest since i made my first cake, four years ago. Sice them i've wanted to participate, but only now i felt ready to do it (OMG! how wrong i was)
I look trought all the desings, but this was love as the first sight, it's so fabulous. i choose to make a full 3D cake, although my brain keeps yelling MAKE A 2D, but i decide to ignore it and make my first time entry, my firs estructure 3D cake.
I made a traditional cinnamon pound cake, filled with rum egg nog (ponche crema) butter cream and some arequipe to help me to battle the incredible hot weather (YEAP, I live in a tropical island, called Margarita). It's all made in fondant and gumpaste, I tried to keep the non edible stuff to the minimal, but i used some wire to help me battle the humidity.
I never imagined that it could be so much work, i worked five days straight whith barely sleep, a crappy Electric service and poor cellphone signal... Finally here is my Knotty Thread Cake.
Thank you Threadless for the support and for his awesome contest!
