Description
So I entered Threadcakes a few years back, and failed miserably! I have been meaning to enter every year since but unfortunately I always end up too busy!This year I have been determined to get one entry in as I have gained much more experience and confidence in the last couple of years.My passion is painted cakes and as it was mums birthday this week I decided to do a cake for her and use it as a good opportunity to get a little entry in! I love hand painting cakes so chose an image that I would be able to paint onto a 2d cake.
So I made a coffee cake with coffee buttercream, mums fav!
I drew out the shape of the Fox onto baking paper.when the cake was cool I used the baking paper as a template to cut the cake to the correct shape.
I then coated it in buttercream and covered with fondant icing.
Then I got painting!To paint I used sugarflair gel pastes and rainbow dust colours (edible range)I decided to use sifted Icing sugar for the snow. I also used my craft knife to cut out some hairlines etc.
Loved making it and mum loved it!
