Beauty before Death

I started with a vanilla cake w/mixed berry filling. BC icing with fondant & chocolate embelishments. The whole thing took about 16 hours to complete. I have only been doing cakes for about 4 years with limited fondant work. The hair, snakes & pearls are fondant w/gel color, luster dust vodka painting. The small butterfly is a chocolate transfer hand piped.
Mostly everything I do is in BC or royal icing. I do not concider myself an artist but love making cakes! I plan on one more entry which I should start this weekend. I work full time so cakes are done when I have extra time or on weekends. My co-workers get to enjoy the benefits of my efforts usually but I did eat a piece of this one for the contest!
I am still learning and loved the opportunity to learn and grow through this contest.
