Description
A couple of friends of mine came over and we baked this cake! It took us about 4 hours to complete (outside of the baking and cooling time). We used 2 sheet cakes made of Funfetti cake mix. We also used some whipped buttercream for the icing as well as fondant and food coloring.
First we made the milk carton. That was extremely difficult to make. Hands down the most difficult thing of the day. It kept of leaning like the Leaning Tower of Pisa. But alas, we did it. We covered it in white fondant and placed it on the cake. At this point it looked like a ghost. The base of the cake is meant to be grass that the cookie and milk are sitting on. It's like a lazy day in the park with the love of your life! =]
Next we did the decorating of the milk carton. We used the white fondant and colored it red with the food color. I then made the strips, blushing cheeks and the word MILK at the top. After, I drew the face on with the black food color and a toothpick.
The cookie was next which was a similar process to the milk. I used brown food coloring for the fondant for the main part of the cookie and used chunks of black & brown mixed fondant for the chocolate chip chunks. I used the fondant chunks to make it look like a real chocolate chip cookie.
In the end, this is the final product. At one point, this cake was going to be going into the trash, but after much determination it came out amazing and I'm extremely proud of it. =] It was good fun making it.
