Impossible Love

Since the design was ‘Impossible Love’ I decided to celebrate their forbidden romance by creating a wedding cake for the cactus and the balloon. This is my very first tiered cake so it was hard work but I was happy with the outcome. The base represents the cactus, the second layer represents the balloon, the top layer holds the message and of course the cake toppers are the bride and groom ;-) The cakes inside are also a mix of yellow cake and chocolate, keeping with the theme. The entire cake is covered with fondant, the cactus cake topper out of marzipan and the balloon was molded with marshmallows (to help keep it light). This experience (and practice) was great, thank you!
