I hate attention seekers

Ok so I had to use this design because it's relatively simple, but made me think of a cake like this the moment I saw it. I mean, I love the wired decorations and everything, but when they're used it IS just to get attention really, isn't it?

I decided to bake the most attention-seeking cake I could think of. What demands more attention than a Devil's Food Cake? Especially when it has that white icing, because of the contrast and everything. I made both the icings and the cake from scratch and by hand, which was a pain in the neck (or, rather, arm) because the "seven minute" icing just did NOT want to thicken at all.

Anyway, I made a lot of mess like I always do and my nanna's been in a mood withe me ever since I started. I'm pretty sure she's hoping I don't win anything in this competition because she doesn't want me to be encouraged! But I cleaned it up... well, most of it... well, some of it. I'm sure she won't be complaining later when she gets to eat some. It was gorgeous =D
