Pancakes Mountain

For two days, my friend Sara and I worked on making the Pancake Mountain design into an actual cake. We started by baking four round cakes and then carving them into thinner slices and stacking them unevenly onto each other to look like a stack of pancakes. We dusted cocoa powder onto the tops of the slices to give it that pancake "cooked" look. When it came time for the butter waterfalls, we first used fondant, but the slightly melted yellow icing looked much more butterific. We made little trees out of icing as well and dotted the cake with them to complete the epic pancake mountain!
