Description
This little energetic mouse was quite the challenge. He started off with boxed cake mix, this time baked in a loaf pan to be carved. After the caked was baked, I let it cool and began on the gumpaste bar. Once that was formed, our mouse buddy, lovingly named "Mr. Squeakers" began to take shape after the very bottom of the loaf was cut off to form the base of the mouse trap. I quickly assembled the base by frosting it and covering it with brown fondant.
Next I began to carve "Mr. Squeakers." After about half an hour he had a definite shape. He was then frosted and carefully covered in fondant. His ears were assembled seperately, along with his legs and arms. Once covered, I added details like his nose, ears, and eyes. The legs and arms, made of fondant like the ears, were placed after they dried a little. After laying "Mr. Squeakers" on the base of the mouse trap, we added his appendages and the bar of the mouse trap. His headband was the last things to be added. In the end, he was quite a tasty, cute, determined mouse.
