We're Friends, Right?

I currently live in a cabin in the woods with only a refrigerator and a microwave, however the gods (and two coworkers) smiled on me and sent me a house-sitting opportunity for a weekend before the end of the contest.

My cake took about 7 hours to make, start to finish. I chose this one because I have had prior good luck with cakes shaped like animals, and I liked the general concept. His body is made out of vegan cake with vegan buttercream and his head and tail are made out of rice krispie treat. The whole thing is covered in fondant. Everything was made from scratch and I didn't cry once throughout the whole process!

I initially wanted to do an exact replica of the t-shirt, but ran into technical difficulties when trying to keep the mouth of the beast open. I called my boyfriend for advice since he has both helped out with other cakes I have made in the past and also has more technical savvy than I do. Instead of advice about structure he gave me some about inspiration and I chose to take it in this direction. Hopefully the joke about oral hygiene will be appreciated by other animal factoid nerds.

I like how this guy turned out, especially his eyebrows. There are no pictures of me/others eating it, as it will be a slowly but surely process.
