Description
My threadcake adventure!
I wanted to do something with cupcakes, this was the perfect design to choose. I made the fondant from scratch and paired that up with one of my favorite cake recipes.
I planned on using the cupcakes as they were, but I dropped the pan they were on and half of them came out of the cupcake cups, just my luck. I decided to take them all out the cups and use them that way. At that point I thought I may as well cut them into squares to make them fit the design better. Now If I had originally planned on doing squares I would have been better off cutting up a cake instead, but that’s me doing things the hard way, ha ha.
After having a couple of misfortunes trying to use the black frosting I bought at the store I thought I lost this battle…but thank goodness for food good old food coloring! I mixed them up until it looked pretty black and painted the designs with a paintbrush.
Afterwards, some cupcakes were enjoyed right away and the others were be kept away in the freezer to be enjoyed at another time. :)
I had fun doing this and can’t wait to make another.
