Description
This cake was a MONSTER to make. Though for my second time ever working with fondant, I'm pleased with the result.
It is a yellow cake (made from scratch) with alternating layers of buttercream with fresh black caps (black raspberries) and buttercream with homemade red rasberry jam. It turned out absolutely delicious!
The cake was carved and then covered in fondant, and my tiny bird army was molded out of gum paste. Everything was hand painted with food dye.
I didn't have help making it, so it took me a few days to complete. Though once I finished, I certainly wasn't the only one eating!
