Dear Threadcakes:
As a child, my father would take me to the circus every summer. I was godsmacked every year by all the magic, sights, and sounds. The follicle enhanced woman, the fire-breathing man, exotic animals and trapeze artists…they all left me speechless. I always knew that someday I would grow up to be part of the act. When I finally reached the right age, I ventured to the big top alone – but this time it was to find my niche. I tried the trapeze, but my fear of heights left me clinging to the swings with closed eyes. I tried growing a larger than life beard, but it only got tangled & messy. I worked my way through many jobs, but none seemed to fit who I was. One day a clown named Twittles came to give me a little clowny advice. He said that the clowns have always been the most important part of the show, and that he would be willing to put me through a boot camp to see if it was my calling.
Eager to prove myself, I changed my diet to match the other clowns. I chomped through mounds of candy and fondant, layers of confetti cake and seas of hand churned butter cream. As boot camp went on, the other clowns told me to really prove myself I must climb to the top of the circus tent. I was reluctant, but I knew this was my last chance at being part of the circus. The next day I called everyone together, and embarked on the climb with a belly full of sugar from the night before. When I finally made it to the top, I could hear everyone cheering. I smiled a prideful smile and yelled “This is IT!!” from the peak of the yellow tent. My stomach began to churn and burn…and then all of a sudden, a rainbow of last night’s sweets poured out of my mouth, down the side of the tent. From then on, I became the rainbow vomiting clown, also known as Boozo.
My circus friends made a celebration cake for me. The two layers were made from the confetti cake I loved so much and covered with tinted butter cream. I was made of rice krispy treats & colored fondant.
Hope you love my tribute cake!
Sincerely,
Boozo
