Description
I love anything and everything about cake and cake competitions...I watch them on tv every chance I get and I have been dying to enter one. I was absolutely thrilled when I found this only a week ago.
I chose Bird Migration because of the whisical nature and I new I could have alot of fun with all of the design elements.
I new I would need some interior structure to hold the body of the bird and wings of course but I used as litle as possible. The base is plywood with a wooden dowel rod running thru the entire cake up into the birdhouse.
Everything is edible except the dowels of course. There are also dowel rods inside the wings. But other than that everything is yummy and fully sugar. Mainly fondant and gumpaste.It has been alot of work...about 30 or so hours but I have enjoyed it very much and I hope you do too.
