Bunnies

Description
When I saw this shirt design I immediately thought of carrot cake, yum! + zombies=perfect.
I baked a from scratch carrot cake (w/ a little rum) and some homemade cream cheese icing. I tried to dye the frosting black, but it turned more purpley. I could have added more coloring, but I didn't want to end up w/ a gross=tasting runny icing. Cream cheese icing is sacred:)
For the bunnies I used melted chocolate/ white chocolate. Since I had some Ghiradelli choc. chips handy I decided to use them instead of the confectionery coating I usually use (I prefer chocolate, but I'm poor). I've never had problems with using chocolate before, but these chips were a different story. I couldn't get a fine line to save my life, even w/ a teeny tiny opening in the bag, and it didn't want to set up. I didn't want to do it all over, so I decided to live w/ it.
I put all my bunnies on the cake-but I did have to use some chocolate chips to prop them up nice.
All in all, I think the cake turned out ok. If I did it again I think I would do two layers instead of three , regular choc. for the design work, and tint the icing another color (light cocoa would be good I think).
This cake got shipped off w/ my Mom for a 4th of July cookout.
