Description
I have recently become obsessed with decorating cakes so I really wanted to enter the Threadcakes contest…I also love lady bugs so when I saw the Ladies and Gentlebug t-shirt design, I knew I had to try and recreate it in cake!
I usually bake my cakes from scratch, but as it was a lazy Sunday I used a mix from the cupboard. From start to finish this cake took about 4 hours including baking time. After the cake was baked and cooled rapidly in the freezer, I gave it a coating of good old vanilla buttercream icing and then began decorating with fondant. Fortunately I already had some in the colours needed so that helped to cut the time down...The finished cake looked pretty good if I do say so myself, and it even tasted alright considering it was a mix!
All in all for my first Threadcake I am quite happy, but look forward to doing more! Thanks for looking ladies and gentlebugs!
