Urban Goddess

I picked this pic because it was just begging to made into a cake. How can you go past a half naked goddess on a huge black snake? I was also spurred on by how many of my friends and family got childishly excited by the sight of boobies, even blue cartoon boobies.

I wanted a funky flavour ( delicious funky, not blue cheese funky) so I tried a vanilla white chocolate mud cake with pink raspberry white chocolate ganache. Yum. A bit of tart to cut through the sweet.

Two cakes were baked and then carved till I found a snake in there. Ganached and covered with fondant, painted and sprinkled with edible black glitter. That didnt show up so well in the photo, but it looked quite delightful sparkling away. The goddess is made with fondant and a bit of CFC powder to keep her bits together. Her clothes were dusted with metallic gold dust also. There are a couple of toothpicks as supports for her head and arms.

My daughter was loving eating snake cake. Thanks for looking! Great competition.. should be more of it, making beautiful pictures into cakes.
