Trojan Hearse cake by Jamie Manos

Description

So Friday night my husband calls me and say that we are going to a friend's house on Saturday and that I should bring something. We being someone who loves to make cakes it was obvious what I would bring. Immediately I knew that I wanted to make a threadless cake. The problem was that I only had chocolate fondant and a tiny amount(about the size of a golf ball) of marshmallow fondant.I set out on a mission to find a brown threadless shirt that I could base my cake off of. Trojan hearse was one of I think 5 shirts that was brown. Luckly I loved the design and got started right away. I started with the base hearse cut out of chocolate fondant. I then took the blue colored marshmallow fondant and started to outline and buildup the design. It took a lot of tiny little strings of blue fondant all hand rolled but in the end it turned out just as I wanted. it was really cool to watch the design come alive. All in all the cake took me around four or five hours. The cake itself was a homemade chocolate cake with a peanut butter dream filling covered with chocolate peanut butter buttercream.
