It’s This Easy Being Green
Here is my first entry for the year! When I was looking through the options for cake ideas, I came across this one, and given the large amount of recycling I keep in my basement until recycle days (Montana kinda sucks on the recycling front), the idea of interpreting this pattern/image/whatever into a cake seemed like quite a bit of fun. I will be submitting other entries this year, and as they will be dealing with fondant and require quite a bit of time to complete, I decided that on this one I would keep it simple and easy, as I see being green to be. The cake is a basic green-dyed yellow cake with a green-dyed cream cheese frosting - which didn’t want to cooperate to much on the sides, but oh well! - and the lettering was painted on using green food coloring. I hope you enjoy this entry, and even though I don’t expect it to go anywhere in placing, I enjoyed making (and eating!!!) it, and was able to touch on the simplicity of life within myself.
