Description
This tee was so cute I HAD to turn it into cake!
I started by baking a delicious German Chocolate cake in a 1/4 sheet pan.
I then used a giant lid as a cookie cutter to make 5in circles out of the cake.
I filled and stacked each layer and used 6 lollypop sticks as supports.
Next, I took the scraps left over from the cut-outs and mixed it up into chocolate frosting so i could shape the dome top.
I frosted the whole thing in beautiful blue icing.
To make the whale, umbrella, clouds and sun perfect, I enlarged a photo of the cake and printed it out.
I used the copy to cut out templates to cut out the fondant around.
I used thin wire I wrapped around a pencil to make the cute curls the clouds sit on.
The wire curls and straight piece were inserted into the just made fondant to dry over night and the whale and umbrella were pressed onto the cake immediately.
Meanwhile, I used a small round tip to pipe all of the water drops bursting out of the whales spout.
Inserting the wire end of the clouds and sun was the last step.
