Description
Yep, I'm back to gruesome skeletons again cos their cool, and so much fun to make. I created the head of Latigo by molding rice crispy treats then covered it with fondant, affixed the teeth and mustache which are in gum paste. The body is a very dense pound cake. I figured since the skeleton's flesh has rotted away, it may as well taste like it too, so I added sour cream and lots and lots of lemon zest. All of the covering i.e. vest, sleeves and ghosts are with a fondant/gum paste mix. I sculpted the skeleton hands from gum paste and formed over bunched up paper towels. The cake was delicious and super moist. Must have been the sour cream cos I've never had cake turn out so good. By the way, I don't believe in using molds, so El Latigo is all hand done.
