Hit Me cake by Diana Zheleva

Description

When at first I saw the design I loved it and immediately thought - this cake will be for my friend Africa. To make it even better - the piñata was going to be a real piñata with candies and goodies inside. Maybe I should look for a baseball bat to break it ;).
Since the beginning I knew that gravity is going to be my enemy but I thought that I could beat it with sticks, RKT, cardboard and wit. Nope. You can not beat gravity. But you can fool it ;).
The cake is vanilla, I wanted to paint it green, yellow and mauve, but mauve just went gray ... The filling is cheese cream with white chocolate. The body is covered with chocolate. The head has incide 3 sticks and it 's made out of RKT. The legs have a stick in the center and a circle of poriexpan above (separated from the cake with fondant) to support the weight of the body. The body is on a cardboard base covered with fondant below and with plastic wrap above. The cake is covered with fondant and painted with edible paint.
It took 4 days to do it - on Wednesday I baked the cake and made the head ,on Thursday I made the filling, sculpted the shapes of the legs and the body, on Friday assembled the cake and started decorating, on Saturday I finished decorating, we made the photos, we cut, we made more photos and we ate it;). I enjoyed (and suffered) a lot while doing this cake! My best reward was to see my friend's face when she saw the cake and see her jumping out of joe and clapping when she cut the cake and saw incide the sweets and candies as in a real piñata: D. The photo shoot with the cut off head like in "The Godfather" was a real fun, you can't imagine what can do a paper whip and a little sign "Hit me!" : D!
