Threadcake #10!!
I decided that for this design I would make a body on a gurney with a toe/gift tag to show where the body is supposed to go..
This cake was a weird one for me because I didn't use any eggs or oil or even water. I found something online (oh, the powers of google) that said I could bake a cake with just chocolate cake mix and a diet soda..and since the internet NEVER lies, I figured I would give it a shot..
The batter was a little thicker than usual, but other than that it seemed relatively the same as it is when I make it the way the box says. And I could actually lick the batter off the spoon without worrying about any gastrointestinal diseases, so that's always a good start..
This cake ended up tasting much better than I expected..I think I like the way they taste with the soda better than the traditional way of making them. I had made the feet and toe tag prior to baking the cake. The feet are made from fondant and the toe tag is made from gum paste that I allowed to harden before writing the "destination" on it (that I based on the font from the T-Shirt). The cake is frosted with chocolate icing and then covered in white and blue fondant to represent the sheets that the body is lying on.
