Colorblind cake by Lauren Babis

Description

What is there to see when you’re blind to the beauty that surrounds you?
You girl, with your umbrella, don’t deflect, inject
with gobs of goo and ink that is love.
Let it rain!
Let it rain!
Let it rain!
Rain on you the pleasures of life—look up! Look up!
The rainbow is washing away on to you, you’re the lucky one!
You’re world will no longer be monochrome, but Technicolor.
You can be Technicolor!
Your cheeks will be flushed with the subtle pink of infatuation
and the distressing red of embarrassment.
Take down your umbrella because the sun is not melting and the brown freckles on your nose will shine through your turning skin.
Look up! Soak it in.
