Description
Feathered Fringe: As soon as I saw it, I just knew those feathers had to be dusted! It took me a few hours over a few evenings to cut out the stencil for it. Then I baked 2 square vanilla cakes, with kudos to MM for helping fill and cover the layers with sweet chocolate Bavarian cream, homemade buttercream icing, and turquoise colored fondant.
After careful placement and a generous dusting of powdered sugar, the first big moment arrived… The stencil was a success!
Next, Dooni Designs graciously permitted use of their slightly modified but still marvelous plucked naked chicken image. This flustered fowl came to life brilliantly on fondant, again thanks to the super skills of MM, who also handled the second really big moment... Perfect positioning!
The end result was exactly what I’d imagined – insanity!
(And fortunately no, the cake did not taste just like chicken – it was simply scrumptious…)
