Description
I whipped up a little Monkey Business in cake form. What a great design to turn into dessert! My little brother was nice enough to snap the bulk of the photos to document the process. To put the design in 2D form, I used a technique called Reversed Transfer. You take your image, make a mirror opposite, tape it to a piece of plexi-glass, line it with wax paper, then start to pipe. It is best to pipe the smallest stuff first then head into larger areas, as to keep holes or gaps from happening. Once you are done with the piping, place the transfer in the freezer for AT LEAST 15 minutes. It is also a good idea to have a frozen cookie sheet to assist with the removal. When ready, I placed the transfer on the cake, rested the frozen sheet on top, then began to peel the wax paper back. Then POOF! I was up to my neck in Monkey Business. Lemon cake, raspberry filling, black frosting (and a gratuitous use of it too!!!) hack with a cleaver, and eat to your heart's delight.
