RED

I decided to have a bash at a 2D cake because I love this design but didnt have enough time or eggs to do a 3D one. I made a basic sponge cake and once iced, sketched out the design as best I could with food colouring. I used this as a guide to build up the figure and once everything was in place I painted it in with food dyes, and used edible glitter and dessicated coconut to try and acheive the wishy washy background effect. I then cut the cake down to size and re-iced the sides and bottom. All in all it took the best part of an afternoon. I still cant get the red food dye out of my hands. boohoo. thanks for looking :)
