Industrial Nature

My friend Dave picked out the design. It was pretty complicated, but I figure I'll try anything. =) The cake itself was strawberry since that's the flavor I had the most of. I printed out the design to approximately the finished size so I could use it as a reference. I made 2 kinds of icing - a softer one for the base color and a stiffer one for the designs. For the colors, I used Wilton color paste. I only used a couple different tips to create the design - a star tip for the red flowers and a plain small round tip for everything else. To smooth out the large areas, I used a small paintbrush dipped in a little water. It took about 4 hours start-to-finish and my husband verified that it was in fact delicious!
