Let's Get Physical

This is my second entry for Threadcakes this year, and he took about 4 to 5 hours to complete from start to finish. I decided to make this guy out of poundcake since it would be easier to carve. I covered my cake board in pretty blue fondant to match the background of the shirt, and then made some marbled brown fondant to cover the bottom layer of the poundcake to make the mousetrap base look like woodgrain. I am not a professional, so everything I know about fondant I learned from watching TV, haha. The mouse was carved from the remainder of the poundcake and covered in a grey fondant. The snap part of the mousetrap was made from marzipan that I colored black. The water bottle and cheese are also marzipan that I tinted yellow. It was a little morbid cutting into this cake to taste it because, well, it's a cute little mouse. But, eh. He tasted good.
