Cutout Ralph cake by Britain Spinney

Description

I was very excited and nervous about my entry this year! Cake carving is not my strong suit so this project seemed pretty daunting when I started, but I knew this was the design I wanted to do. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! All in all I think it took me about 12 hours plus time to bake all the cake. I made 7 6" round chocolate cakes to create Ralph's body and head and filled it with homemade vanilla frosting. I covered him in white fondant and then added all the detail. His boney arm and leg are made of rice crispy treats covered in fondant and I also used some pull and peel licorice for some veins. Everything minus a few dowels, cake boards and tooth picks, for structure, was eatable and delicious! I brought it to share at a friends Halloween party and we all loved it! It was a great addition to the Halloween treats!
