Apples and pears

Description
I made this cake in a weekend. I baked the base on Friday afternoon, then left it in the fridge until the next day. On Saturday I made the frosting, arranged the cake and covered it with fondant. The whole decoration and the pictures I did on Sunday.
I really enjoyed the painting of the cake: I used gel food colouring dissolved in some alcohol. The apples and the pears are made of fondant.
The cake was very tasty: sponge base with mascarpone and maple syrup frosting. After cutting it I gave some to family and friends and they told me it was very delicious. I was very happy with the cake but unfortunately not with the pictures.
