My first entry to the 3D category was "A Piece of Cake" and now I'm entering "Cookie loves Milk"...can you tell that I have a sweet tooth? This design has always made me smile - that carton of milk blushing while holding the cookie's hand is just so darned cute!!
Adorable design aside, I also wanted to see if I can make the milk carton both stand up and lean to the left just like in the original graphic. First I constructed the base and supports, then I started stacking on the pound cake, making sure to place the cake just a smidgen to the left every time. After all the cake was stacked, the weight distribution on the board was so lopsided, I had to use a small bucket of gumpaste as a counter-balance. The milk carton was covered in modeling chocolate and fondant and cookie was made with modeling chocolate with embedded chocolate chips. I struggled a bit with how to place the conversation bubble above cookie until I realized that the internal leg support can also double as a sign post of sorts. And after the last arm was attached, I sat back and just smiled because, well, just because. :)
