Description
This is my second Cookie Monster themed Threadcake. I love Cookie Monster, and think he is misunderstood. He knows what he wants, goes after it with vigor, and finds euphoria when he gets it! These are not the actions of a monster! They are the actions of one who hungers. Cookie is teaching our children to go after their dreams, love their dreams, even devour their dreams! Let us bring a halt to our judgmental cries of Monster!
This is a chocolate cake, filled with vanilla wafer cookies and chocolate ganache. I had left over ganache, and figured it would be great in the cake. Vanilla Swiss buttercream frosting enrobes the cake. Placed on top is a white chocolate disk that has been painted with cocoa butter.
After putting the cake together I started painting the image onto the slab of white chocolate. I used Chef Rubber brand (sorry for the name dropping)colored cocoa butter. Painting the image took me about 3 hours. I had to temper the cocoa butter frequently due to it drying out. I finished the painting, then compared my version to the original. I noticed I forgot Blue's right arm. I totally missed it when I was painting the design. Fortunately, since I was working with cocoa butter on white chocolate, I simply scraped off the paint, outlined the arm and presto blamo, Blue has a right arm. Fortunately also for little shading in that particular arm.
After painting the scene, I placed it on the cake, and finished frosting the cake. My husband and me enjoyed the cake, and the painting. We also took it to our running group, but those pictures did not turn out.
